Everwell

PLACES: Everwell

Meet Abby Knott and Lindsay Hurty, co-founders of Everwell, a membership-based workspace designed for work, volunteer ventures, passion projects, and home + family management. The pair originally met in their early years of motherhood. Abby worked part-time and dreamt of balancing motherhood with a fulfilling career, which she could do from home during school hours. Yet when her three children had all entered elementary school, she realized working from home was isolating and lonely. She missed working alongside other hardworking, passionate women. Collaborative workspaces were beginning to pop up and she began working on a business plan. Her focus was on creating a workspace with a built in social community.

Meanwhile, during this time, Lindsay was working on her own venture—The Trellis Workshops, where she designed and facilitated small group workshops focused on predictable but unfamiliar transitions; a popular workshop she led was geared toward home-based moms who wanted to re-enter the professional work space in a revised way from how they left it. When the establishment launched, Lindsay had an epiphany. She believed The Trellis Workshops was a small part of something much bigger. By keeping her business contained to her living room, it was limiting the community aspect. Both Abby and Lindsay had strikingly similar business plans. But were they competitors or partners? The answer, today, seems quite obvious. The pair perfectly complements one another. In the end, they aligned their visions and merged into one business model.

Everwell is a unique business. The perception is that Everwell is a co-working space for women, but it doesn’t stop there. Everwell aims to target women who make up this community. Whether you’re a volunteer, a coach, an entrepreneur or freelancer or a career professional, there is room for everyone. This brand-new addition to Darien aims to redefine work rather than being a full-time office. The goal is to accommodate the way work is changing. All programming and events are focused on four pillars: Career + Calling, Family + Home, Body + Health, and Thought + Intellect.
