Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and how well they prepare students for college. The Advanced Placement participation rate at Darien High School is 78%.

Meet Kristina Hess, a health coach and licensed dietitian/nutritionist who works with clients to support their efforts to make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results. Kristina has a Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health from the University of Maryland. Kristina is available to provide wellness seminars for your corporate office, book club, women's group, or child's school on a variety of topics. She is a coach at THRIVE Results Coaching in Darien.

HIGHLIGHTS

A new app for Darien was just launched! The Darien Chamber recognized a need to improve its communication resources not only for our local business and members but for all Darien residents in an effort to connect the entire community. Using an improved means of communication, the Live Darien CT app brings the town’s resources together in one place including everything from restaurants, shopping, and leisure to local government, recreation, and real estate listings.

The app will host a “EAT/SHOP/PLAY/WORK-LIVE” format, with key features including our Member Directory that will offer a list of reputable, local businesses, establishments, and organizations and the Darien Community Calendar, a quick access guide to local events, activities, and promotions. Current real estate listings, town amenities, town resources, job postings, emergency services, and more are all part of the app. Darien Dollars, the new town-wide gift certificate program, will now offer gift deliveries and redemptions via text or email on the app.

For businesses, upgraded listings are available and can be customized to include direct links to social media, maps, business hours, custom buttons for menu links, push notifications, sale alerts and customer reminders. The app will have the ability to promote in real time, year-round. Advertising opportunities will also be an option for members.
