Darien Teens Receive REALTOR Scholarships

The Connecticut REALTORS Foundation awarded their 2024 Raymond F. Gates, Jr. Memorial Scholarship recipients. The Raymond F. Gates, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1976 in memory of Raymond F. Gates, Jr. following his tragic death in an automobile accident. Mr. Gates was the Executive Vice President of the Connecticut REALTORS. Over the past 48 years, children of REALTORS have been awarded scholarships totaling more than $1,000,000.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the Connecticut REALTORS Foundation is proud to announce that 105 outstanding children of CT REALTORS were selected to receive a total of $82,000 in scholarships.

The Darien Board of REALTORS is excited that three Darien teens were among the 105 selected.

Lily Donzeiser majors in Environmental Sciences with a Biological Concentration and minors in Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. Donzeiser is currently seeking a career in environmental consulting to be at the ground-level of direct change. Lily is the daughter of REALTOR Michelle Donzeiser with Compass Connecticut in Darien.

Henry Peters is an upcoming graduate of Darien High School who will major in Environmental Science and Economics at Bowdoin College. Peters wants to be an entrepreneurial leader in environmental sustainability in the fight against climate change including in real estate. Henry is the son of REALTOR Astrid K. Peters with Brown Harris Stevens in Darien.

The Foundation is pleased to highlight scholarships that are being awarded in honor of CT REALTORS Past Presidents who have recently passed away. William Donzeiser has been selected to receive this year’s tribute scholarship in memory Larry Story, 1996 CTR Past President from the New Canaan Board of REALTORS.

William Donzeiser will graduate from Darien High School soon and attend the College of the Holy Cross. Donzeiser will major in Economics and Psychology and has a long-term goal of being a senior risk management analyst at an investment bank. William is the son of REALTOR Michelle Donzeiser with Compass Connecticut in Darien.
