Welcome to the 7th annual Be Home for the Holidays campaign! The CT REALTORS® Foundation is pleased to once again partner with the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness to help end family homelessness in the state.

Thanks to you, a child could stay safe in their home. Your generous gift will help prevent families from becoming homeless by providing emergency assistance to help them stay in their home and not enter the shelter system. For every $25 donated, the CT REALTORS® Care Foundation will give a plush Paddington bear to a child living in a shelter during the holidays.

The success of the campaign depends on your support and promoting and getting others involved! You can start your own online “bear raiser” (team) and use your personalized donation link to encourage family and friends to donate. You can put up a "giving tree" in your place of business and encourage others in your community to do so as well or get your church/clubs to hold a "bear raising" drive too.

Dennis Lake is the owner of La Taqueria in Greenwich. A few months ago, he opened a new location here in Darien. Dennis is an alum of the Culinary Institute of America and has worked with both Certified Master Chefs, Brad Barnes and Hartmut Handke, during his first four years out of the Institute. Dennis has gone from hotels to large, themed restaurants, to Celebrity Chefs and most recently, Glaze Teriyaki and Rosa Mexicano. Each experience has molded and formed him into who he is today. La Taqueria is a fine Mexican dining experience and offers high-quality Mexican food in a fun and casual environment. Handmade dishes are made just for your pleasure.

HIGHLIGHTS

Darien’s Spirit of the Season is upon us! This event is Darien’s way of sharing the holiday spirit with everyone in town! On Sunday, November 27, join the Darien Sport Shop for the 44th annual Tree Lighting ceremony from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Santa will arrive at about 5 p.m. The Festival O’ Wreaths 2.0 will be Friday, November 25 through Wednesday, December 21. There will be a local shop stroll, where you can do all your holiday shopping and you can enjoy all of the holiday lights along the road. On Saturday, December 10, there will be a family fun event at Tilley Pond Park, where there will be arts and crafts, a wood-burning fire, holiday drinks, and holiday music. The Menorah lighting will be on Wednesday, December 21, at 6 p.m. at the Grove Street Plaza.
