Dear Darien,

Applications are now open online for the 2022 Raymond F. Gates Jr. Scholarship Program! Children and step-children of CT Realtors Care, Realtor-Associates or local Board-Association/CTR staff are eligible to apply. The parent must be an active Connecticut REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® or local Board Association/CTR staff member for the one-year period from April 9, 2021 to April 8, 2022.

High school seniors, college undergraduates and college graduate students with at least one year left to complete are eligible to apply. The application deadline is April 8, 2022.

There was a grand opening of CHECK Body-Mind in Darien on March 1. We would like to take the time to welcome them to our wonderful town! Darien’s new health spa focuses on holistic wellness and offers a variety of memberships and packages.

Services include cryotherapy, massage therapy, stretch therapy, LED red light therapy, yoga, and a tachyon meditation chamber.

Amber Kemp is the mission-driven founder of CHECK Body-Mind. Kemp is a licensed massage therapist, life coach, Reiki practitioner and yoga instructor. She became a Reiki practitioner in pursuit of an effective and sustainable health regimen that she could integrate into her life as well as the lives of those she loves. CHECK Body-Mind has a wealth of knowledge on health and wellness. We can't wait to go!

BITES

Clean Juice, a USDA-certified organic juice bar franchise offering smoothies, salads, sandwiches, and so much more will open a new store in Darien this March! Food and drinks are made with high-quality ingredients and there will be a variety of other items on the menu.

District Manager Victor Rivera said, "Clean Juice Darien is not just your typical juice bar. We pride ourselves on providing the freshest organic products, educating our guests on the benefits of eating organic and cleansing. Our organic juice cleanse program is safe, easy and a healthy way to bring your mind, body and spirits back to life."

HIGHLIGHTS

The Darien Parks and Recreation Department’s 5th annual Something Sweet on Tour is coming back this March! Local businesses will be battling for the best desserts in town at the event. Mark your calendars for March 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to experience the deliciousness. Registration is required and will open on Monday, March 14. Registered families will participate in voting for their favorite local treat.

Browne & Co. was Darien Parks and Recreation’s 2021 Something Sweet Dessert War winner with its S'more Cake Pop! We can't wait to see what desserts everyone comes up with this year!

BLISS

Join the Darien Community Association (DCA) in its journey toward philanthropic education. The DCA offers a wide range of activities and programs for all ages and interests, virtual and in-person classes. It hopes to continue helping to educate everyone by providing college scholarships to Darien High School graduates, and providing thrifting services for the community.

The DCA is now accepting applications for the 2021/2022 academic year. The DCA provides scholarships for graduating Darien High School seniors and college students who are or have been DCA scholarship awardees. The scholarship program assists students with undergraduate studies and students are eligible to apply and be considered for a scholarship for all four years of their undergraduate career.
