The town’s five elementary schools -- Hindley, Holmes, Ox Ridge, Royle and Tokeneke -- are consistently ranked among the best in Connecticut. Our middle school, Middlesex, grooms pre-teens for entry into Darien High School, which as recently as 2013 was recognized by U.S. News as the top high school in the state.
Students who enter Darien High School excel in the classroom and on the athletic fields. In 2014, Darien High had the highest SAT scores in the state and Darien students consistently score above state averages in Advanced Placement exams. Athletically, both the girls and boys programs stand out. Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference titles are the norm and state championships are frequent.
