Getting to work, going shopping or planning a night out on the town in Manhattan, Darien has two train stations that make the 45-minute commute about as hassle-free as possible.

The Noroton Heights and downtown Darien stops provide residents with direct non-stop service to Grand Central Station. The Metro-North trains continue as far north as Bridgeport. Local residents can also access the town’s neighborhoods to the north and west by using the Talmadge Hill and Springdale stops on the New Canaan Branch of the Metro-North. For air travelers, Westchester County Airport is located about 25 minutes northwest of Darien. The facility offers direct flights to Chicago, Atlanta and many Florida cities. Seasonal flights are offered to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.

New York’s LaGuardia Airport in Queens is the closest major airport, about a 50-minute drive depending on traffic. John F. Kennedy International offers international service and is an hour-plus commute. New Jersey’s Liberty International in Newark, N.J. also is easily accessible from Darien.
